Rita M. Kowal

Rita M Kowal age 86 passed away peacefully on February 21, 2021. She was a long time resident of Bayonne before moving to an assisted living facility in Middletown. Everyone loved Rita, she was outgoing and listened to everyone. She would say she was Dear Abby. She was widowed at an early age and worked waitressing and catering while raising her four children. Everyone knew the sandwich lady when she worked for Lenny's and went there just for her. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed bowling and was on a league for many years, bus trips to Atlantic City, singing and dancing. People naturally gravitated to her. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years. Her family will miss her tremendously. She is predeceased by husband Ronald and her daughter Karen. Survived by her daughter Donna Cerreta (Gene), (sons) James Kowal (Joanne) and Brian Kowal (Linda) and seven grandchildren John, Matt, Jamie, Melissa, Michael, Brandon, Dylan and Robert and a great grandson Camren who adored her. She leaves a hole in all our hearts and will be missed every moment of every day.
