John A. Amato

John A. Amato of Manahawkin NJ passed away March 11, 2021. 

Born on March 2, 1949 in Jersey City, NJ. Long time resident of Bayonne, later moving to Manahawkin, NJ. 

John is survived by wife Gertrude A. Amato (O'Rourke), his son John T. Amato and wife Jamie, daughter Kristen Calderone and son in law Vinny. Beloved Grandfather to Olivia Amato, John Amato, Vincent Calderone, Antonio Calderone. He is also survived by his siblings Josephine Trombetta her husband Nicholas, Vincent Amato and his wife Mary Ann, Anthony Amato and his wife Nancy, Sister-in-law Helen Miller and the late John Miller, Brother-in-law Jerry Terracciano and the late Margaret Terracciano and many nieces and nephews. 

John's passion was cooking, and all his friends called him "Johnny Meatballs". He always enjoyed a good cigar accompanied with a glass of scotch. He loved to be on the water riding his boat to his favorite places on Barnegat Bay. His nieces Tia & Dana hold a special place in their hearts for their beloved uncle. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Special thanks to Seton, Jack, Mary Jo, John, Laurie and Mike for always being there for him.

Visitation Thursday March 18, 2021 5pm - 7pm.

A Private Cremation will take place at Rosehill Crematory, Linden NJ.
