Dianna Kalos Obituary

We regretfully announce the passing of Dianna Victoria Kalos of Bayonne, NJ. Dianna died on March 28th, 2021 peacefully at home in the arms of her husband, Stilianos Kalos.

Dianna was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 18th, 1964. She was one of the most honest and loving women to ever walk this earth and was a blessing to her family. She had a passionate soul with a contagious laugh and a smile that would light up a room. She was also a devoted Catholic who certainly believed in the human soul. She often quoted the Bible and believed that she would one day be reunited with her family in Heaven. Dianna was predeceased by her mother, Malgorzata Wycislaw Sapikowski, her father, Czesław Sapikowski, her brothers, Bronislaw and Henrik Sapikowski, and both her niece and nephew, Theresa and Nikolaos Kalos.

As a child, Dianna attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic School in Bayonne, NJ. She went on to graduate from Bayonne High School where she made a lifelong friend, Diane Howley VanderHorn. She also attended Barbizon Modeling School when she was noticed for her absolute beauty and stunning hazel eyes. Despite her opportunities, Dianna knew her true calling was to create a family of her own. On April 20th, 1982, she married the love of her life, Stilianos Kalos. She went on to have three children, Nicholas Kalos, Cassandra Kalos, and Alexsandros Kalos. She was an exceptionally supportive, understanding and loving Mother. She lived and breathed for her Children and Husband. For 39 years, she and Stilianos had an extraordinary marriage. They were the example of true love. They were soul mates, committed to each other through thick and thin, till death they did part.

Dianna had the pleasure of being known as both Babci and Nana to her four beautiful Grandchildren. Her eldest son Nicholas and his wife Megan Kalos welcomed Christina Corinne, Gwendolyn Eve, and Olivia Alice to her world. Her daughter Cassandra and Gary Zabnicki welcomed her youngest grandchild, Scarlett Nicole. It was Dianna’s greatest honor and blessing to be a part of their lives. She leaves behind many more loved ones including her brother-In-law, Stratis Kalos and his wife Lisa Kalos, her nieces, Amanda and Athena Kalos, and many more close friends to the family that she was cherished and loved by.

Life for Dianna was not without challenges. She was the last living member of the Sapikowski Family. She faced multiple health issues that compromised her well being for several years. She struggled to overcome every trial with the belief that God kept her here to serve a greater purpose. She fought until the very end and even when diagnosed with cancer, her final thoughts were of her family and not of herself. She was a remarkable Daughter, an exceptional Wife, and an incredible Mother. She will always be loved and never forgotten.
